Data Part Two
(just what every aspiring leader wants on a Sunday morning)

Todays Tasks:

1. Go to: http://www.padlet.com/wall/typesofdata and add in any other types of data you have thought of.
*Note: if this page isn’t working in Internet Explorer, please borrow one of Jac’s extra computers.

2. In partners, small groups, or individually go to: http://todaysmeet.com/PQP . Here we will brainstorm topics/inquiry questions that you have
seen PLCs focused around in the past.
*We will export this list and email to the group after.

3. In groups, look through the data for the school that you have been given.
  • What data do you have?
  • What questions do you have about this data?
  • What other data would you want to have?
  • What might be the focus of some PLCs in your school?
  • What teachers might you invite to the PLCs (division, department, subject, etc.)

4. On your own go to: http://m.socrative.com and enter the room number “calder”. You will be led through three questions and then be able to
complete an anonymous survey.

The digital tools used:
  • Padlet.com à a digital “corkboard” that many different people can be writing on at the same time. Works on any device (except super old versions of Internet Explorer) including iPhones, iPods.
  • TodaysMeet.com à an online discussion forum requiring no account. Great for “backchannel” discussions during videos, debates, lessons, etc. Works on all types of devices including iPod touches, phones. You can save a transcript of the discussion.
  • Socrative.com à online polls, diagnostics, brainstorms, etc. that you can save the responses as an excel file. Works on any device (especially small smart phones and iPod Touches).
  • Drive.google.com à we created our slide deck and presentation together using Google Docs from a distance.
